National MyCleaning and MyPorter Awards

Get ready to paint the town vibrant with celebration! The National MyPorter Awards & National MyCleaning Awards are making a triumphant return to Central London in 2024, and we couldn't be more thrilled to announce the fabulous venue is once again – Salsa Temple.

After hearing your feedback, it was crystal clear that the next awards needed to be where the magic happened before – right in the heart of Central London at the colourful Salsa Temple. This venue, known for its flamboyance and vibrant atmosphere, stole the hearts of attendees last time, and we're doubling down on the good vibes and doing it all again!

Salsa Temple is more than just a venue; it's a living testament to the vibrancy, dedication, and excellence that our porters, cleaners, and auditors bring to their roles every day. This year, we've collaborated with Salsa Temple to elevate the experience to new heights. Picture this: a bespoke menu that's been crafted to perfection in collaboration with the kitchen, adding a touch of flavour and flair to our celebration. We're making it bigger and better than ever before, ensuring that the venue reflects the qualities of our Portering and Domestic Services.

Salsa Temple provides the ideal backdrop for an event that strikes the perfect balance between special and relaxed, with only a hint of the corporate humdrum coming in the form of education, during the morning's conferences, giving guests the opportunity to take the knowledge and insights gained back to their own Trusts. If you thought the venue choice was exciting, wait until you hear about the star-studded line-up for the morning conferences. Brace yourselves for talks featuring the likes of NHS England's Emma Brookes, Phil Shelley, and Fay Lane. But that's not all – Delia Cannings is gracing us with her presence again after stealing the show at last year's MyCleaning Awards. There is also a live panel, so guests can raise questions and queries to those key decision makers and those who have been carefully selected to share best practice. Each awards event is a day of education and celebration.

Mark your calendars for Tuesday, February 20th, and Wednesday, February 21st, 2024, because these back-to-back conferences and awards ceremonies are not just events – they're the epitome of greatness in the world of Portering and Cleaning. With NHS England's association and collaboration, alongside national press coverage proves why shining the spotlight on your colleagues or team at this annual extravaganza is an opportunity you don't want to miss.

Now, let's talk categories! We've got an array of awards tailored to suit every nominee! Last year saw the first-ever International Porter of the Year award, and this year, we're gearing up to make it even more monumental. Building on the success of the International Porter of the Year award, we're thrilled to announce the addition of an International Domestic of the Year award. Phil Shelley, NHS England, will discuss the new portering standards at the National MyPorter Awards

The deadline for nominations for the National MyCleaning and MyPorter Awards, both in association with NHS England, is now only six weeks away.

The live events will each include a conference earlier in the day, featuring a keynote speech from NHS England’s Emma Brookes on cleaning standards and the next steps. Additionally, Phil Shelley of NHS England will provide an update for portering teams, discussing the plans and the latest on the new portering standards.

“I’m really looking forward to giving an update on where we’re at with the portering standards, giving those who will be implementing them within their hospitals a first glimpse of what we’re looking to achieve. This isn’t about us; it’s about them. These are their standards. Likewise, the awards aren’t about us; it’s about them. I can’t wait to be there, celebrating our wonderful portering and cleaning teams and the tremendous work and effort they show day in and day out. If you know someone or some team that really deserves some extra praise, please get your nominations in, as I can’t wait to read them.” - Phil Shelley, Senior Operational Manager at NHS England

Nominations are open until midday on January 12th, 2024, with portering and domestic services urged to submit their nominations now. Both the MyPorter and the MyCleaning awards category entries have been gaining momentum in recent weeks. It's that time of year again, when the unsung heroes of healthcare are set to bask in the limelight as we proudly announce the resurgence of the MyPorter Awards and MyCleaning Awards. Now in their fourth consecutive year, these prestigious accolades are dedicated to celebrating the invaluable contributions of Portering and Healthcare Cleaning professionals, whose pivotal role often goes unrecognised but greatly influences patient flow and positive outcomes.

The National MyCleaning Awards and MyPorter Awards are not just a recognition; they are a celebration of excellence within the healthcare workforce. This year, we invite you to light the path for someone you believe deserves that extra applause and acknowledgment. Beyond the accolades, those shortlisted by our distinguished panel of judges will partake in an unforgettable live ceremony set against the backdrop of central London. Here, they will revel in an inspiring evening of camaraderie with peers who share their passion for shaping the future of healthcare.

In association with NHS England, both awards ceremonies have got prominent attention, with esteemed figures such as Emma Brookes, Phil Shelley, Fiona Daly, and Simon Corben supporting last year's event. Emma and Phil serve as respected judges and will be joined this year by Tim Radcliffe, enhancing the panel further. The rigorous judging process is scheduled for mid-January.

Portering and Cleaning roles within the healthcare sector often operate behind the scenes, overshadowed by the broader world. This is your opportunity to ensure they receive the recognition they rightfully deserve. In recent years, the awards have achieved national attention, featuring prominently on platforms like Times Radio and Sky News. Notably, last year, Jemma & Danny Roscoe, crowned winners of the MyPorter Awards – Portering Team of The Year, took centre stage during an engaging interview on Sky News' The Kay Burley Show. These moments underscore the vital role played by Porters and Cleaners within the NHS, an integral part of a well-oiled machine.

Let us join hands to celebrate these unsung heroes once more. Waste no time; submit your nominations today.
